Climate change, which is increasingly present and visible in our daily lives, is one of the key challenges of the last decades: understanding its mechanisms and developing strategies to mitigate its effects has become crucial. Extreme weather events – alarm signals sent by the Earth – are indeed increasing in frequency and intensity and are becoming increasingly critical, generating a complex web of social, economic and political dynamics.
In this context, the E3CI enables the analysis, monitoring and quantification of extreme weather events in Europe, with the aim of providing greater awareness and new opportunities to manage the impact of climate change.
