The effects of climate change are becoming increasingly evident, with significant impact on the environment, but also on the culture, habits and choices of our society. Promoting greater awareness and information has become a collective imperative, particularly for younger generations.
In this context, the Golinelli Foundation recently hosted the Summer Camp “Climate and Future: Skills for a Sustainable World” in Lugo, which engaged young students in an educational pathway dedicated to climate uncertainty and the development of decision-making skills oriented towards sustainability.
The E3CI Index presented to the new generations
During the Camp, on July 24th, Eleonora Barelli (Head of Education and Foresight) and Gaia Gambarelli (AI Education Expert & Instructional Designer) from the IFAB Foundation delivered the lecture “From Data to Indices: Quantifying Extreme Events“, in which they presented the E3CI Index as a case study.
The E3CI proved to be an effective tool in climate change analysis, enabling the observation of the frequency, intensity and impact of extreme weather events. Scientific education, supported by advanced data analysis tools, can foster change and stimulate the adoption of sustainable behaviors.
